Mark Kelso’s involvement with the Christian Music Ministry dates back to 1969 when he served as the musician for Junior Church and prayed regularly over the cookies.  He was first witness to the healing power of prayer while playing for a healing service at the age of 19 in which the lame walked and the blind received sight.  Since that time, Mark has provided music for healing and church events from Montego Bay, Jamaica to Tuscany, Italy, and for uplifting events from Michael Jackson’s Neverland Valley Ranch (World Chidren’s Congress), to Madison Square Garden (Goodwill Games), to the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (Children’s Christmas Concert.)

With over 20 CDs of sacred music to his credit, Mark was one of the first pianists on the EMI/Virgin/Narada label despite the fact that they repeatedly asked him to dispense with some of the more Christian titles of his albums and pieces.  In the early 90’s, Mark founded Muddy Angel Music as a micro recording label with the stated mission to “focus on where music comes from, not where it goes.”  He has produced 100s of CDs for other artists as well.

Mark has provided music for the Healing Ministry at Christ the King since its 2004, having provided music for Nigel Mumford long before he came to the SLC.  He will offer praise and worship music by request (if he knows it or can fake it) and will also compose songs on the spot for willing congregants.
