"She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21, NIV
At an "Emerging Leaders in Healing" Conference at Christ The King Center in July of 2005, Francis MacNutt explained in one of his talks that names in the Hebrew culture have deep meaning, reflecting the calling, character, and very essence of a person. He elaborated that the name Jesus means "God is Salvation," or "The Lord Saves." The word translated "save" in the above passage from the Gospel of Matthew is sozo, the Greek verb that can be translated to heal, to save, and/or to deliver. Thus the Name of Jesus literally means "The Lord Heals", "The Lord Saves", "The Lord Delivers!" That is who He is! That is what He does! [1]
This conference will explore Hope and Healing in the Name of Jesus, and unpack the wholeness Jesus desires for each of us in these main areas of Healing, Salvation and Deliverance.
